I decided a few years back, to maintain a healthy pace on the "publish or perish" hamster wheel, I would dedicate my time and energy-- such rare, scare, and precious resources in these early days of motherhood-- to researching issues of the heart. I asked the Lord to break my heart for what breaks His, and he did; He made known to me the lack of research on the issue of human trafficking in higher education (particularly coming from teacher education), and it has become my research agenda.
This past weekend, I was able to present some initial data findings from a study a colleague and I did in May with 250 student participants. It was an honor to present at the National Council of Social Studies. And it is an honor to use my calling to combat human trafficking.
